Obituary For
Gary J. Evans

Services have been set for Gary. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the First Baptist Church, Tecumseh on May 16, 2010 at 1:30 PM. Officiating will be his Brother-In-Law, and pastor of the church, Rev. Alan Maki. Gary's wife, Sondra, will greet friends from 1 PM until the time of services.

Gary J. Evans, age 57, of Tecumseh, formerly of Saline and Ypsilanti, died at home on February 9, 2010 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born October 26, 1952 in Highland Park, MI, the son of John and Doris (Berghaus) Evans. He was married to Sondra Henry at Jonesville, MI on October 3, 1998, and she survives.
Gary was employed for 29 years at University of Michigan Hospital. He honorably served his country for two years in the U.S. Army. He attended the First Baptist Church In Tecumseh. He loved motorcycle riding, gardening, and spending time up north and camping. Gary loved the outdoors and building birdhouses.
In addition to his loving wife, Sondra, Gary is survived by his in- laws; Ray (Gloria) Henry of Belleville, Vicki (Mike) Guzowski of Canton, Sharon (Rev. Alan) Maki of Tecumseh, and Diane Ziemba of Farmington; two brothers, Scott (Judy) Evans of Harrison and Mark Evans of Allendale; two sisters, Karen (Chip) Leslie of Gladwin and Nancy Evans of Harrison, and his two loving cats, Abby and Emmy. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his parents. Gary was a loving husband, brother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Gary''s memory to Lenawee County Humane Society.
