Our Knowledgeable and Caring Staff
Our staff are among the finest in the area. We fully staff our funeral services and visitations, allowing us here at Handler Funeral Homes to greet our visitors with a smile and assist them in finding the family they are here to visit.
The funeral service is the last place you want to
have inadequate assistance for your family and those visiting. Families,
pallbearers, and visitors are all assisted and directed from arrival to departure
by compassionate and professional members of Handler Funeral Homes.

Owner/Director
Nicholas Handler, Jr., CFSP
Nick
has been involved in funeral service since he was 18 years old. He
began his career with Allore Funeral Homes inMonroe, MI where he
served his apprenticeship. He graduated from Monroe County
Community College and received his
certificate in Mortuary Science from Wayne State
University. Nick has been a Tecumseh resident for over 10
years. He
joined Couture-Ochaleck Funeral Home in 1995, and became a partner with Gary Couture in
1997 to create Couture-Handler Funeral Homes. Nick became sole proprietor of the
funeral homes in April 2006.
“Funeral service is a passion to me. If it ever becomes a job , I
need to get out. I’m glad to be in
the Tecumseh/Clinton area and happy to call it home.”

Ollie Long
Ollie,and his wife Lois, have
been residents of Tecumseh since 1987. They have two adult children,
Rhonda and Steve (Kathy) and have three granddaughters. Ollie has worked
at the funeral home faithfully since 1991. His job title has seen
many changes over the years. He currently obtains doctors
signitures and death certificates for the families we serve along with
miscelaneous office work, visitations on occasion, and funerals. Ollie is a
member of the Tecumseh Church of the Nazarene. |

Doug Downard
Doug is a lifetime
resident of Tecumseh. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 33
years. He began working at the funeral home in the summer of 2003.
He, along with his wife Debra enjoy working in their yard and gardens in their
spare time. He enjoys hunting, fishing and golfing. His attention to
detail and thouroughness make him a vital asset to the funeral home. He
says it is rewarding to be here and be able to help out when a friend or someone
important to him has died. |

Gary Roberts
Gary came to work at the
funeral home in 2005. He is a lefelong resident of Tecumseh and a lifetime
member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tecumseh and also sings in the church
choir. He enjoys woodworking and gardening in his spare time.
He and his wife Joan have four children and eleven
grandchildren. Gary had worked at Tecumseh
Products, Emerson Electric and finally Condor Products until he retired in
1999. |

Jim Englehart
Jim was a lifelong
Clinton resident until moving to Chelsea with his Wife, Susie, in 2008.
They have been married 40 plus years and have three daughters and six
grandchildren. He spent four years in the Air Force and retired from Ford
Motor Company after 30 years. In addition to his family, Jim loves to play
golf. He has been an employee of the funeral home since
2005. |

Ron Publiski
Ron has lived
in Tecumseh for 35 years. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 30
years. Ron has worked at the funeral home since June of 2001. In
addition to working at the funeral home he is an Pulmonary Technician along with
being certified in audio testing and CPR instruction.
Ron's caring nature and warm smile make him a real asset to Handler Funeral
Homes. He has been married to his wife Carolyn for 16 years and between
them, thay have five grown children and five grandchildren. Ron is a
member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tecumseh and has traveled to Kenya on
two occasions to assit with water well diging
missions.
