Betty "BJ" Johnson

Betty J. Johnson, age 78 of Manchester, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 in Tendercare of Adrian. She was born March 29, 1931 in Nashville, TN, the daughter of George and Susie Mai (Jennett) Combs. She was married to Kenneth Lee McCarroll in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1965.
"BJ" was an avid bingo player and she enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and feeding people. She is survived by six sons; Kenneth L. McCarroll, Jr. of Detroit, Stan (Grace) McCarroll of Manchester, and David McCarroll of Detroit, William (Cuki) McCarroll of Phoenix, Rick McCarroll of Harrisville, PA, and Rick Johnson of Jonesville; two daughters, Cindy Johnson and Yvette Johnson both of Detroit, sixteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, one daughter, and one sister, Mary Spurrier. "BJ" was loved deeply by her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
A t her request cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
