Obituary For
Mary A. Schumacher
10/10/1944 - 01/22/2010


Mary A. Schumacher, age 65 of Brooklyn, passed away after a three year battle with breast cancer on Friday, January 22, 2010 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 10, 1944 in Hillsdale, the daughter of Albert and Celia (Woodliff) Southwell.

Mary graduated from Litchfield High School and Adrian Beauty Acadamy. She was a licensed cosmetologist and cosmetology instructor. Mary had owned and operated Tecumseh Beauty College and Adrian Beauty Academy. She worked for 22 years at G.M. in Tecumseh, retiring in 1988. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary is survived by her life partner, Jerry Bradish; one daughter, Tammy (Dr. Dan Doman) Paterson of Saline; one granddaughter, Chelsea Paterson of Saline; one grandson, Brett Paterson of Saline; stepchildren, Jay (Deanna) Bradish of Charlotte, NC and Jamie Bradish of Ypsilanti; and four sisters, Shirley (Jerry) Hollister of Hillsdale, Jeannette Koziol of Grass Lake, Ardella Luce of Allen, MI and Eithel (Bert) Nelson of Manteca, CA. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2010 from 2 PM until 6 PM at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 2 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Riddle officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 PM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
