Obituary For
Norman J. Barnard
03/14/1945 - 02/22/2010


Norman J. Barnard, age 64, of Shepherd, Michigan passed away on Monday, February 22, 2010.

He was born in Shelbyville, Indiana on March 14, 1945, the son of Lowell and Martha (Miller) Barnard. He was united in marriage with Louise Stutesman in 1967.
Norman and Louise served the Lord in Asia with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism for 32 years, retiring in 2008 and joining Trinity Baptist Church of Alma. Dr. Barnard was a compassionate minister of the gospel, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and friend, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Norman is survived by his wife, Louise, five children: Heather (Scott) Kelly of Seattle, Washington; Shannon Michelle (Steven) Krise of Lovettsville, Virginia; Shonda (Todd) Kenter of Fruitport, Michigan; Bradford (Stephanie) Barnard of Manassas, Virginia; and Holly (James) Baxter of Shepherd, Michigan; and nine grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Tecumseh (MI) Chapel of the Handler Funeral Homes, 313 W. Pottawatamie St., Tecumseh, MI 49286, from 5-8 PM. A memorial service celebrating his life will held at the Perry Baptist Church, 217 S. Main St., Perry, MI 48872, on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to Asia Baptist Theological Seminary. Please make checks payable to the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism and designated for the ABTS of CU, account #077540.
